Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin w/ Apples & Honey

Fast Food | Episode 1

Note: in the TikTok video, you see me use 2 tbsp cinnamon. That turned out to be too much! *Trust me on that*

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 lbs pork loin
  • 2 large granny smith apples. sliced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions:

  • Slice slits in pork loin.
  • Place 1-2 apple slices per slit.
  • Place remaining apple slices in bottom of crockpot.
  • Place pork on top of apple slices.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon over everything.
  • Drizzle honey over everything.
  • Place lid on and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Remove from slow cooker, slice.
  • Return to cooker, stir into juices and apples, serve.

The Story:

As you can see, I’m not one of those annoying bloggers who make you read a whole story before you get the recipe. I hate that, too. You’re welcome.

Speaking of welcome… Welcome to the very first cringey episode of Fast Food. (Do you see what I did there???) I say “cringey” because I am one of those people who HATES to hear and see myself and video, and the above TikTok is the first time I’ve dared to show myself talking on video. Not the first time I’ve shown my face. Not the first time I tried to film myself speaking. But the first time I’ve dared to publish myself doing both. Sooo… cringe.

But there is only one way to get over it and it was time.

Back to the recipe!

First of all, this will make your whole house smell AMAZING. Everyone who walks into it will comment on it. Your teenager may even complain about it…

Worth it.

The kids and husband loved the resulting dinner. To be totally honest, it wasn’t my favorite. But any recipe that three out of the four of us enjoy is a keeper! And it was super easy and something I threw together on a Monday morning on a work-from-home day in between meetings. So a keeper.

Some notes on the recipe:

  • You might think you need to add a liquid, but you don’t. Both the pork and the apples will release plenty.
  • The apples will turn into apple sauce.
  • The resulting sauce will be *very* sweet, so really recommend the Granny Smith apples, rather than the Honeycrisp apples you saw me use in the video. You’ll need the tartness. If you end up using a different apple, cut back on the amount of honey you use.
  • I served this with roasted potatoes but really wished I had a green veggie or salad. Cabbage would actually be perfect.

I would love for you to give this recipe a try and let me know what you think! Better yet, give it your own spin and report back how your tweaks worked out so I can try them out, please.
